Brasstown Bell Newsletter – 11/03/19

Hello Friends of the Brasstown Community Center,

Our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Potluck will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:00 pm (the week before the official holiday so we don’t have to eat TWO Thanksgiving dinners in the same week).  The Community Center will provide the turkey and all the trimmings, mashed potatoes and rolls. Please bring your best vegetable, casserole, salad or desert dish to share.  This is a Clay County tradition not to be missed!  A meeting will be held after the supper to elect new officers.  There is no potluck in December.

Many volunteers will be needed to help decorate, prepare food and cleanup.  If you can volunteer, please come by and help out any time during the day, or stay after supper and help cleanup and put things away.

Raffle tickets for the beautiful quilt donated by Deanna Skubal will be for sale right up to the night of the Thanksgiving/Christmas potluck; $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  Tickets can be purchased at Clay’s Corner.  The quilt will be raffled after our Thanksgiving supper.

Back to Balance Massage and Body Works continues to sponsor acupuncture clinics by Dr. Shi Ying Kuai, O.M.D. of Asheville, North Carolina. Acupuncture Clinics are scheduled for November 16th and 17th.  Dr. Kuai has been practicing Traditional Oriental Medicine for over 50 years.  Acupuncture can be used to improve many conditions in the body, as well as treat muscular and neurological pain.  (Here is a link that will help explain Acupuncture and its application.) http://www.itmonline.org/arts/acuintro.htm. If you are interested in being treated by Dr. Kuai, please contact Cyndi Singh at 828-644-8425.  The first visit is $125 and if you are already an established patient, $85.  It is exciting to have this ancient healing art available in Brasstown.

Clay’s Corner is open.  Hours are 7am – 7pm, Monday – Saturday.  Clay’s Corner hosts an open jam starting around 7 pm on Friday nights.

The Crown Restaurant is now open on the hill above Clay’s Corner.  For some outstanding vittles, try them out at 139 Emily Lane, Brasstown (accessed from Settawig Road).  Phone  828-516-1672.  They close early on Sunday and are closed Monday and Tuesday.
