The Brasstown Community Center:
There is a free concert at the Brasstown Community Center on Friday, February 8, 2019, starting at 6:00 pm. The band is Detour Re-Mix; David Anderson, Bill Ledford, Eddie Cosner, Dorothy Smith, Wade and Steve Waldroup. They will be playing an old time country music mix.
Our Community Pot Luck Dinner is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm in the Brasstown Community Center on Settawig Road. The February potluck will be held on Tuesday, February 19th. Please bring children, family, friends, and neighbors, along with a dish to share. This wonderful Clay County tradition provides an opportunity to share food and fellowship with friends, neighbors, and new people in our community.
The new awnings have been installed over each of the doors at the Community Center and the Community Center Education Building.
The Brasstown Community Center Education Building is being rented and has dates available for rent; contact Katie Teems Bateman at (828) 360-2747 for information and reservations. The Brasstown Community Center is a 501C3 charitable organization. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated! Brasstown Fire Department: Many thanks to all who volunteered, donated and attended the fundraiser for the Brasstown Fire Department on January 20th. A special thanks to Nanette Davidson who prepared the wonderful food! The fundraiser was a huge success! Please read the letter from the Brasstown Fire Department.
The Kula Wellness Center offers yoga, massage, Ayurveda consultations with Hannah Levin, and special workshops. An Acoustic Open Mic, hosted by Tony Hume, will be held February 9th from 6 – 8 pm. The John C. Campbell Folk School is an incredible resource in our community. In additional to a wide variety of classes that teach how to make beautiful, interesting and useful things, concerts and dances are held regularly. On Friday, February 8th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones will perform in the Keith House Community Room. You don’t want to miss this remarkable duo!
