Brasstown Valley Heritage Event
Long-time local resident Bass “Jim” Hyatt has written a personal history of the Brasstown Valley. Brasstown, the oldest town in Clay County, is now 200 years old. Lets meet and celebrate!
Saturday June 16, 2018 at the Brasstown Community Center, 255 Settawig Rd, Brasstown NC starting at 5 pm.
Brasstown Valley history discussion leaders will talk on the following subjects:
- Jason Edwards – Georgia Side of the Valley and Trail of Tears
- Billy Ray Palmer – Removal of the Cherokee Indians
- Wally Avett – J.C. Campbell Folk School
- Bass “Jim” Hyatt – Closing Remarks
Come enjoy an evening of entertainment and education about the cultural heritage of Brasstown. Bass Hyatt’s book will be available for sale.
