Hello Friends of The Brasstown Community Center,
This coming weekend, October 7 and 8, the John C. Campbell Folk School will be having their annual fall craft festival. There will be live music at multiple stages, food vendors and over 250 fine crafts booths around the campus. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 12-17, and free for children under 12. Parking is free but donations are encouraged to support the Murphy High School Shooting Team.
Our Community Pot Luck dinner is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6 pm. This month it will be on Tuesday, October 17th. It is a family event. Bring children, friends, and a dish to share. The food is wonderful and it is a great way to spend time with your neighbors!
The Thanksgiving/Christmas Potluck will be held on the 2nd Tuesday in November, November 14th. Volunteers will be needed to help set up tables, decorate, peel potatoes and other food preparation, and help with cleanup. If you can help, just come by any time during the day and there will be something that needs to be done. There will not be a potluck in December. There is no better way to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with family, friends and neighbors at the Brasstown Community Center. Everyone brings their best dishes and the food is fabulous!
Fund raising for a new building for the Brasstown Fire Department is ongoing. Donations can be sent to The Brasstown Fire Department, PO Box 55, Brasstown, NC 28902. Any amount will be appreciated. Let’s all support our Brasstown Community Fire Department!
Our new Community Education Center at the Brasstown Community Center is about 75% complete. Many thanks for all of the contributions that have made it possible! At this point, funds have been depleted but we still need to raise another $15,000 to do the finishing work; sheet rock, LED lighting and electrical work, plumbing, etc. All donations will be greatly appreciated!
