Hello Friends of the Brasstown Community Center,
Just a reminder that our Community Pot Luck Dinner will be held on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:00 pm at the Brasstown Community Center. Bring children, friends and a dish to share. Come share food and fellowship with friends, neighbors, and new people in our community. Clay Logan says we need to have a very important Board Meeting immediately after the potluck and requests that all Board Members attend.
An Emergency Preparedness Day will be held at the LDS (Latter Day Saints) Church in Peachtree on March 24, 2018 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The event is FREE and open to the public. Sponsored by the Blairsville GA and Murphy NC Branches of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The event will be held at the LDS Church in Peachtree, 656 NC-141, Murphy, NC 28906.
Presentations and demonstrations will be available throughout the day. Topics will include:

- First Aid Kits and Emergency Care
- Emergency Energy and Lighting
- Water Storage and Usage

Community Services Building
Home is Where the Heart Is Series #2 will be held April 3-6 at the Community Services Building. During this program, sewing skills using the serger will be covered. As participants learn to use the serger, a small project will be completed. Also during this week, the basics of drying herbs will be covered. Small commercial dehydrators will be used to dry the herbs. These dried herbs can be used for cooking or to use in sachets for closets or drawers.
The time will be from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm each day.
The fee for the program will be $10.00 per day or $20.00 for the entire 4 days. Please either email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 828-389-6305 to register for the class or if you have any questions.
